Sustainability reporting
The Middle Way assists private and public sector corporations to prepare sustainability, corporate responsibility and environment reports.
We have been an Organisational Stakeholder of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) since 2002 and have prepared reports following the GRI Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.
Sustainability reporting includes the following steps:
- Ensure awareness and buy-in from Board members, senior executives and employees
- Identify material issues using mechanisms including stakeholder survey; review of relevant internal and external reports; media analysis; review of issues identified by industry peers; and reference to sustainability frameworks
- Prioritise material issues according to what is most important to the business, what is most important to key external stakeholders, and what the corporation can control
- Select performance indicators and framework for the report
- Nominate responsibilities for data collection and prepare protocols to assist in data collection
- Prepare report from draft through to sign-off
- Manage report design and printing
- Arrange for independent verification if required.

The Middle Way has been an Organizational Stakeholder of the Global Reporting Organization since 2003. We support the mission of the GRI to develop globally accepted sustainability reporting guidelines through a global, multi-stakeholder process.
